webhosting:ftp_to_webserver
This information is for website authors who need to place webpages onto Riv WE's webservers.
- Get an FTP program. CoreFTP free version, and Filezilla client are both good. Download and install the FTP program.
- Put the FTP login details into a new account (look for Site Manager). These details would have been emailed to you when your hosting account was opened.
- Connect to the server. You should now see two windows containing files and folders. The one on the left is on your computer: the one on the right is on the webserver. You can drag files from one to the other, and this copies the files.
- Send your webpages and any other files needed, such as images, stylesheets, etc. These usually go in the public_html folder.
