Open the Mail app. List of email providers: tap the last choice - Other. You should see “New Account”.
Put in your name, email address and password.
The name of the account is for your own use.. the default is usually OK.
tap Next
Two big buttons at the top. Select POP.
Incoming mailserver: the hostname is mail.riverland.net.au
User Name: (usually the bit before the @ in your email address, although some people have changed this)
Password: type carefully. It is case SenSiTiVe !
Outgoing mailserver: The one your broadband provider gives, e.g. mail.bigpond.com.

If there are no errors, re-open the Mail app. You should see mail coming in. Button at top left, Inbox(number)
Open the Settings app. Open Mail, Contacts, Calendars
Accounts .. you should see any mail accounts. Tap the one you want to look at.
(or, to add a new one: Add account… Other .. Add Mail Account, then as above for the first time setup)
SMTP servername >
tap server name ..
Hostname, username, password (for SMTP authentication)
Use SSL on/off
Authentication probably should have NOTHING. Tap it to change type. Probably cant deselect it: try turning server OFF then ON
Server port
Advanced > has incoming mailserver settings.
